SJ Berwin hosted a lunch for the Sports Law Lunch Club at their offices on 13 December 2001.
Amongst those attending were senior City lawyers involved in the sports industry and representatives of sporting bodies such as the Lawn Tennis Association and the Football Association.
The topics aired included the injunction proceedings commenced by Crystal Palace against their manager, Steve Bruce, and the implications of the unsuccessful claim for damages by Darren Pilcher (the former Crystal Palace player) for a negligent tackle.
Jonathan Metliss, who chaired the lunch, was thanked by Graham Perry, the Chairman of the Sports Law Lunch Club, for his firm's sponsorship of the event and in reply said:
"We were delighted to host the lunch, which is another example of SJ Berwin's activities in the overall sporting arena and its commitment to the sector."
