SJ Berwin hosted a dinner for The Outward Bound Trust at their offices on 20 November 2001. The guest speakers were Peter Ridsdale, the Chairman of Leeds United, and Sir Michael Hobbs, Chief Executive of the Outward Bound Trust and former Director of The Duke of Edinburgh's Award.
Amongst those attending were senior City figures and members of the professional community.
Founded in 1941, Outward Bound is the most famous of all the adventure brand names. With centres in more than thirty countries, it offers young people the chance to draw lasting benefit from safe adventure experiences.
Peter Ridsdale and Sir Michael Hobbs described the activities of the Trust. Peter Ridsdale highlighted the role of sport in influencing and inspiring young people, and also responded to questions on current football related matters, such as the proposed players' strike.
Jonathan Metliss, who chaired the dinner, said:
"This is another example of SJ Berwin's role in the overall sporting arena and its continued commitment to and support for the charitable sector".
