Practice Areas | Broadcasting and Communications
The Media & Communications Group represents a range of broadcasters, rights holders, and communications infrastructure providers. The broadcasting and communications practice covers all aspects of content distribution, from creation to carriage, and we regularly advise on licensing and regulatory issues, including compliance with the Communications Act 2003, the Broadcasting Acts, the various Ofcom codes and guidance notes and EU legislation including the Television Without Frontiers Directive.
We have extensive experience in negotiating commercial agreements relating to the broadcasting and communications businesses, including content licences (such as output deals) and agreements relating to the delivery of television and radio services through cable, satellite and terrestrial platforms, including conditional access agreements, set top box agreements, uplink agreements, playout agreements, transponder agreements, digital capacity agreements and subscriber management agreements. We also act for a range of rights holders such as film and television producers and sports organisations. See Film and Television Production and Sport.
