Sex discrimination and harassment: A hands off guide
Thursday 5th June 2008
at at 10 Queen Street Place London, EC4R 1BE
Discrimination law continues to be a hot issue for employers. Changes to the Sex Discrimination Act 1975 have been introduced recently after the High Court ruled that the Government had not properly implemented the amended Equal Treatment Directive. We are also seeing more reported cases brought under the Protection from Harassment Act 1997, for which the House of Lords ruled that employers can be vicariously liable. The rules preventing discrimination can be difficult to comprehend and to apply in practice, and with the legislative changes and increased publicity surrounding discrimination claims; does this mean that employers are more at risk than ever?
In this seminar, we will help you find your way around the sex discrimination legislation, by using examples of how issues can arise in practice, and giving practical recommendations on how to minimise the subsequent risk of discrimination claims.
