Richard Slowe has had a varied and distinctive career. He first qualified as a solicitor, then practised at the Bar, being Head of Chambers for 14 years, before joining SJ Berwin as Head of the Advocacy Group. Richard was the first ever solicitor advocate to appear in the High Court and is an accredited mediator.

His career has given him experience in every court up to and including the House of Lords and over 150 of his cases have been reported. He has acted for pop groups, newspapers, multinational conglomerates, Lloyd's Names Action Groups and Eastern European oligarchs. The breadth of Richard’s practice and experience enables him to turn his mind to almost any problem from corporate fraud to Sovereign Immunity and from international enforcement to worldwide freezing orders. His speciality is commercial strategy, using litigation as a tool rather than as an end in itself.

His success rate is considerable and his peers acknowledge his presence in any litigation as formidable. He has been described in legal directories as "tenacious", "having gravitas to deal with the heavyweight slogs" and as having "a good knowledge for how the land lies in difficult situations".
