Rob Guthrie is an associate in SJ Berwin LLP's Intellectual Property Group. Rob qualified in 2004 and advises on all aspects of Intellectual Property protection, enforcement and dispute resolution. Rob has worked with a number of high profile clients, from generic drug companies to the owners of well known brands, across the breadth of both hard and soft intellectual property rights.
In 2005 Rob assisted in Mayne Pharma's speedy patent trial against Teva regarding the anti-cancer drug paclitaxel. This case was brought to trial in less than five months. Rob has also acted in a number of other patent disputes in both the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors.
As well as trade mark prosecution and the handling of individual disputes, Rob also has considerable experience in the conduct of large scale enforcement campaigns for brand owners. These campaigns have concerned counterfeits, look-alikes and parallel imports.
Rob has also handled matters involving a number of other intellectual property rights including copyright (in computer programmes, websites, sculptures and photographs), registered design rights and passing off.

Rob has a degree in Jurisprudence from Oxford University and has a Post Graduate Diploma in IP Law and Practice from Bristol University.
