Michael Metliss specialises in property-related litigation, is head of the Property Litigation Group and a partner in the firm's Real Estate Division.

He regularly advises and acts for property companies and institutional owners on a wide range of property issues; from redevelopment to rent review, from disclaimer to distraint, from rights of way to dilapidations, from professional negligence to nuisance, from service charges to forfeiture, from tenant insolvency to trespass and from rectification to misrepresentation.

He writes regularly for the property press, has lectured to the Property Managers' Association, at the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and extensively for clients and at SJ Berwin's in-house property seminars.

Having read history at Warwick University, he qualified as a solicitor in 1984, joined SJ Berwin in 1987 and became a partner in 1991.
