Michael is a commercial litigation partner, practising from the firm's London office.  He joined SJ Berwin in 2004.

Michael leads the firm's contentious technology and telecoms practice, described by Legal 500 2007 as a "strong IT litigation practice".  Legal 500 also notes that (in the past two years) Michael and his team have "acted on some of the highest profile disputes in the TMT sector".

Michael's clients include IT suppliers, providers of outsourcing services, software suppliers, telecoms service providers together with customer side organisations such as financial institutions and other large corporate users of such products and services.  He has acted on some on the largest technology disputes to come before the UK courts.

Michael also undertakes more general commercial litigation work and has, in the past, undertaken a considerable amount of work in the construction and engineering sectors (including several arbitrations).

Michael has extensive ADR experience, particularly in the areas of mediation and expert determination.  In 2007 he co-founded "ADR4T" an organisation set up to examine and improve dispute resolution processes and procedures in the IT, telecoms and satellite sectors. 

His international experience includes substantial litigation for and against US corporations, litigation arising out of business conducted in the UAE and advisory work in the Asia-Pacific region.
