Federico is the head of Italian Intellectual Property department.
He has received a law degree from the faculty of law of the University of Turin. He has worked initially as in-house counsel with AGIP PETROLI and RECCHI, Italian leading companies in the energy and building sectors. After qualifying in 1998, he has been admitted to the Turin Bar. He has then worked with Studio Legale Jacobacci & Associati (one of the leading Italian IP Firms) from 1999 to 2007. In the meanwhile (precisely in year 2000) he has worked on a secondment with Addleshaw Goddard for approximately 6 months.
Federico has extensive experience in a wide range of intellectual property matters dealing with all forms of intellectual property rights and Entertainment Law.
His litigation practice includes defending complex cases before the Italian Tribunals and Court of Appeal (including Specialized Court for Intellectual Property), advising in multi-jurisdictional disputes including multinational trademark and patent litigation cases on behalf of international clients.
His non-contentious experience includes advising on licences, distribution agreements, franchises and all the intellectual property aspects of M&A, Private Equity and Venture Capital transactions.
Federico has considerable experience in acting for clients in the Italian media industry, fashion and pharmaceutical, biotechnology and healthcare fields on a range of transactions and contentious matters.
He lectures and writes regularly on various IP issues. One of the publications to which he contributes is PHARMACEUTICAL, BIOTECHNOLOGY AND CHEMICAL INVENTIONS: WORLD PROTECTION AND EXPLOITATION edited by OXFORD UNIVERSITY PRESS .
His areas of expertise are trade marks, unfair competition, design, patents and utility models, entertainment law.
Federico is also a member of AIPLA (American Intellectual Property Law Association) and AIPPI (International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property).
