Ralph Cohen is the firm's Managing Partner and a partner in the EU & Competition Law Department.
In addition to his management responsibilities, he specialises in European Community law with a particular emphasis on competition and trade law. His competition practice covers a very broad range of areas including obtaining merger clearances from both the UK and EU merger jurisdictions, advising on distribution and pricing structures, cartel advice, reviewing commercial agreements and devising appropriate compliance programmes for clients.
Ralph also has extensive experience in EC trade law, with particular emphasis on anti-dumping law, having been involved in some of the largest dumping investigations involving the Far East. In addition, he advises widely on other customs and trade related matters including origin, classification and valuation issues. His GATT/WTO (General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade/World Trade Organisation) experience includes advising foreign governments and industry associations in relation to potential dispute settlement actions before the WTO.
Ralph is recognised in both the Legal 500 and the Chambers Directories as one of the UK's leading competition lawyers. He is also identified as a leading trade lawyer in the Who's Who of Trade and Customs Law. He has lived and worked for lengthy periods both in Hong Kong and Brussels and is fluent in French.
