Gordon Christian is an associate in the firm’s EU & Competition Department, specialising in competition law.

Gordon studied at the University of Exeter, where he gained an LLB (Euro) (German) degree, an LLM in European Legal Studies and a PhD on legal aspects of economic and monetary union. In addition, Gordon has successfully completed a Postgraduate Diploma in EC Competition Law from King's College London.

Gordon has experience advising on both EU and UK competition law in a diverse range of industrial sectors, particularly in relation to mergers, EC and UK cartel investigations and other Article 81/Chapter I and Article 82/Chapter II issues. Gordon also has experience advising on investigations by the Office of Fair Trading and on market investigations by the Competition Commission.

Gordon has also contributed to and published several articles in a number of UK publications, primarily relating to Freedom of Information Act issues in a competition law context and access to documents. In addition, Gordon has published articles on the OFT’s case closure policy and prioritisation issues, cartel policy, Community institutions’ non-contractual liability in competition law issues, legal privilege for in-house lawyers and most recently on the European Commission’s White Paper on Damages Actions.
