Valentina Pomares has extensive experience in a number of labour and social security issues in both contentious and non-contentious matters for Italian and non-Italian clients.

Valentina is fully experienced in all labour and personnel-related matters, with a particular focus on mergers and acquisitions, as well as on restructurings, employment agreements, executive compensation plans, settlement agreements, and employee representation. Valentina also provides day-to-day advice to businesses on a wide range of employment-related issue (advising, inter alia, on all procedures of hiring, individual or collective dismissal, exercising disciplinary powers, transfer of business, transfer of employees, drafting individual and collective employment contracts including non competition covenants,  drafting regulations of employment relationships, and disciplinary codes, secondments and expatriate workers), agency agreements and all kinds of consultancy or service agreements.

Valentina was graduated magna cum laude at the University of Milan and has been a member of the Bar Association of Milan since 1996.

Before joining SJ Berwin LLP in February 2006, she was an associate at Studio Legale Toffoletto e Soci,  Studio Legale Menichino e Associati and Studio Legale Abbatescianni e Associati (all local firms speciliazed in labour law). More recently she was a senior associate in Baker and  McKenzie, in the Employment and Labour Department.

She is author of several articles on labour law, agency and distribution matters published on top labour law magazines. Valentina regularly attends  seminars and workshops and is also Lecturer of Civil Law at the Bocconi University in Milan.
She is member of the European Employment Law Association (EELA) and  the Italian Employment Lawyers Association AGI.
