David joined SJ Berwin’s Commercial Litigation and Dispute Resolution Department in 2005 as a newly qualified solicitor.

David has worked on a number of contractual disputes involving investment banks, hedge funds, clearing and settlement agents and broker-dealers.  David was a member of the team which acted for a leading clearing and settlement agent in a civil claim for damages arising from a “pump and dump” scheme operated by a regional stockbroker through one of London’s biggest market-makers.  He also worked with Nick Brocklesby on Signet Partners Limited v Signet Research and Advisory SA [2007] EWHC 1263, a case involving a contractual dispute between a Swiss based hedge fund and one of its marketers.

David has advised investment banks and hedge funds in disputes relating to share trades, CDO’s and other derivatives.  He has advised banks (as lenders) in relation to corporate acquisitions and changes of control, and is presently acting for a Nominated Adviser in relation to a dispute arising from an AIM listing.

David has also acted for a number of financial institutions in regulatory investigations and is a member of the Department’s banking litigation and fraud and asset tracing groups.

David studied law at University College London.
