Shawn D’Aguiar is an Associate in the Corporate Finance Department.  Shawn qualified as an Advocate in India in 2004 and went on to specialise in Securities Law at the Government Law College (Mumbai, India) and in 2007 completed his Master of Business Laws at the prestigious National Law School of India University (Bangalore, India) where he was a batch topper.  Shawn has also written various papers, including on Hedge Funds and Buyouts in India.

Shawn joined SJ Berwin in 2007 having previously worked at A.R.A. LAW (Mumbai, India) for over 3 years where he gained experience in fund establishment and investment structuring for private equity funds, hedge funds, and mutual funds.  Shawn also has transactional experience in private equity and M&A and domestic and international equity and debt capital markets, where he acted for companies (both listed and unlisted), fund houses, and investment banks.

Shawn now focuses largely on private equity and venture capital, including fund structuring and establishment, co-investment and carried interest arrangements, and secondary transactions.
