Delphine Currie is a partner in the Corporate Finance department of SJ Berwin LLP. Delphine qualified as a solicitor in 1990 and became a partner in 1996.
She deals with all aspects of corporate finance work, including mergers and acquisitions, takeovers, joint ventures, IPOs on the Official List and AIM market of the London Stock Exchange and both public and private equity fundraisings.
Delphine has specialist knowledge of the AIM market and has been acting for AIM companies since the inception of the market in 1995, when she was involved in one of the first fundraisings. Since then, she has acted for a number of AIM companies (both UK and overseas) on their AIM IPOs and subsequently on secondary fundraisings and other corporate transactions. She also acts for a number of nominated advisers and brokers who are active in the market. Recent highlights include acting for the nomad/brokers on the IPOs of Kubera Capital and Africa Opportunity Fund and acting for Reconstruction Capital II and GoIndustry, both of which completed significant fundraisings in 2007.
She is also experienced in Official Listings and also advises a number of listed companies on continuing obligations under the Listing Rules. During 2007, Delphine was involved in two high profile listings - Vector Hospitality, the planned £2.64 billion hotel REIT, and Wagamama - both of which were pulled shortly before impact due to market conditions.
Delphine is also active in the property sector and undertakes a wide range of corporate finance work for both listed and unlisted property companies. Recent highlights include acting for British Land on its corporate reconstruction following its conversion to a REIT, various hotel acquisitions for London & Regional Properties and a series of European property joint ventures and funds for a privately owned asset management group together with UBS.
Delphine is also an active public speaker and addresses a number of conferences in the UK and elsewhere in Europe and the US on subjects such as AIM and listing investment funds. Many of these have been organised in conjunction with the London Stock Exchange.
