Karel Tielens is an associate in the Brussels office and specialises in corporate, transactional and general commercial deals.

Karel obtained his Law degree from the Catholic University of Leuven (KULeuven) and holds a Masters Degree (DES) in Corporate Law from the Free University of Brussels (ULB).

He begun work at Roberti & Partners, Brussels and joined SJ Berwin LLP in 2006.

Karel works regularly with the firm's corporate and finance teams on M&A and private equity transactions. He also advices funds on regulatory and compliance matters including advice on authorisation and financial promotion of their products.

He has experience in commercial law and acts for a range of international clients on a broad spectrum of commercial litigation before the Belgian courts and including arbitration proceedings.
