Agnes Pinto Borges is an associate in the EU & Competition Department in Brussels, specializing in EU Competiton Law and International Trade.

Agnes is qualified as “advogada” both in Brazil (São Paulo 1997) and Portugal (Coimbra 2007). She is also a member of the Brussels Bar.

Prior to coming to Europe, she practiced corporate and international trade law for 10 years in two large law firms in São Paulo, last at Demarest eAlmeida Advogados. She has also an experience in advising clients on EU law andhas been an intern at Trade Directorate General of the European Commission.

Agnes obtained her law degree at the University of Espírito Santo State (Brazil) in 1996. She obtained a LL.M in Business Law from the Catholic University of São Paulo and thereafter a Master in European Studies from the Université catholiquede Louvain. Additionally, she holds a Postgraduate Diploma in EC Competition Law from King’s College London. She has been teaching Brazilian Commercial and Competition law at Catholic University of São Paulo for 4 years.

Apart of her native Portuguese, she is fluent in English, Spanish and French.
