David specialises in both employment and pensions-related matters. With his comprehensive managerial background, he has significant experience in providing pragmatic, practical and effective legal advice to employers and employees on the full range of employment issues such as unfair dismissal, discrimination, harassment, whistle-blowing, breach of contract and TUPE transfers as well as certain criminal issues.  
 
Before joining SJ Berwin, David served as an officer in the Royal Navy in a number of locations and appointments worldwide. He qualified as a barrister in 2001 specialising in employment, employee benefits and other related areas of the law. He has lectured on various aspects of the law to a variety of audiences including government officials from several Baltic States and has represented the UK (RN) in 2004 at the Maritime Trade Organisation Conference in Dubai.  
 
David is a member of Middle Temple and the Chartered Management Institute, and was recently awarded a Senior Award (Master's equivalent) in Leadership and Management from the City and Guilds Institute.
