Andrew Wingfield is an associate in the Corporate Department. Andrew's principal areas of practice are corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions and private equity related work within the UK and internationally.

Andrew frequently represents private equity and hedge fund clients and past representations have included advising Lion Capital on its leveraged acquisition of Wagamama, advising the management team and the majority shareholder 3i on the US$535m sale of ERM to Bridgepoint Capital (short listed by Legal Business for Private Equity Team of the Year), advising Merchant Equity Partners on the acquisition of MFI Retail for which the SJ Berwin team won The Lawyer's "Corporate Team of the Year - Mid Markets" award for their work in June 2007 and advising Investcorp on the buyout of Moneybookers (one of Europe's leading online payment providers).

Andrew joined SJ Berwin LLP in 2003 and previously worked as an in-house lawyer for a FTSE250 asset finance business, as a strategic planning director for a private equity backed technology business and for Deloitte. He holds an MBA from Cranfield University, was granted the Corporate Finance qualification by CICA in 2008 and is EVCA's legal representative for entrepreneurship education in private equity and venture capital.  Andrew is currently on secondment to Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP until early 2009.
