Friedrich Toepel (Dr. habil.) is an associate in the Frankfurt office of SJ Berwin LLP.
He was admitted to the bar in 2006.
Friedrich started his career as attorney at law when joining the German Real Estate
Department and advises German and international clients in all aspects of Real
Estate Transactions. Before he came to SJ Berwin, Friedrich has been a lecturer at
the Universities of Bonn and Dresden where he taught criminal law (including white
collar crime) and procedure. In the academic year 2005/2006 he worked in Chicago
as a Fulbright visiting scholar at Northwestern University School of Law in Chicago.
Friedrich was educated at the universities of Munich and Freiburg and wrote his
dissertation on 'Causation and imputation in connection with negligence' at the
university of Constance. He also is the author of a book on 'The expert in the law
of criminal procedure' and coauthor of the Nomos-Commentary to the German
Criminal Law. He is a member of the Chamber of Attorneys in Frankfurt.
