Edward Page qualified in 1989 at Berwin Leighton moving to Eversheds in 1993. He joined SJ Berwin in April 1996 becoming a partner on 1 May 1998.
He has undertaken a large amount of project development work in respect of leisure, industrial, office and retail sites for both domestic and overseas clients.
He also acts for several institutional clients, in connection with their investment
portfolio.
He often advises on the property aspects of corporate and banking deals.
Recent deals include:
- Acquisition and refinancing of public house portfolio comprising 50 properties;
- Acting for the Laurel Pub Company on the disposal of about 160 Public Houses to R20 (Robert Tchenguiz vehicle);
- Acquisition and leaseback of portfolio of 31 food stores for Axa;
- Acting for a number of Banks on the financing aspects of various leisure and healthcare transactions (involving hundreds of properties);
- Acting for Axa Investment Managers on one of the UK’s largest corporate Outsourcing deals, involving over £2 billion worth of assets;
- Dealing with the real estate aspects of several major corporate acquisitions and disposals in the retail sector (including Principles/ Warehouse/ Jimmy Choo);
- Acting for purchaser in the sale and Leaseback of 55 acre site in Drews Lane, Birmingham; and
- Acting for Operator on a sale and Leaseback of European Head Quarters in Brent Cross, North London for major supplier of hi fi and audio equipment.
