Ajay Pathak is a partner in the financial markets group.  Ajay advises hedge funds and funds of funds on issues relating to their operation, marketing and management. In this regard Ajay has been engaged in drafting offering documents, management and distribution agreements. Ajay also advises on prime brokerage, securities trading, custody, clearing and settlement arrangements and on regulatory and compliance matters including advice on authorisation, conduct of business rules, financial promotion, outsourcing, FSA enforcement and market abuse issues.

Ajay has a particular interest in internet related financial services and is a co-author of E-Commerce: A Guide to the Law of Electronic Business, Butterworths 2000.

Ajay spent two years on secondment at Pershing Securities Limited (an affiliate of The Bank of New York) where he was responsible for managing the UK in-house legal function. Ajay is a founding member of the India business initative at SJ Berwin and has particular expertise on the structuring of investments into India.
