Laura O'Neill specialises in mergers and acquisitions (with a particular emphasis on cross-border transactions), takeovers, UKLA matters, joint ventures and general company law. She advises a variety of public and private companies as well as financial institutions. Most notably in 2007, she advised the Westfield Group on its Greyhound Fund; LaSer on its acquisition of 5 one Marketing Limited; The Bank of Scotland on its participation in the Glebe London Fund; the CPC Group on the joint venture with Kaupthing Bank in connection with the acquisition of land and property in Beverly Hills, Wilshire Boulevard; and Helios Investment Partners LP on its US$170 million acquisition of a 24.99% stake in Equity Bank Limited, a Kenyan bank listed on the Nairobi Stock Exchange.

Key highlights in 2006 included advising Westfield on its joint venture with Queensland Investment Corporation in respect of the Merry Hill Shopping Centre, Victory Corporation plc on its recommended takeover and the CPC Group on its joint venture with Kaupthing Bank hf in connection with the acquisition of Middlesex Hospital.
