Joanna Hamilton is a partner in SJ Berwin's Corporate Department, with a particular focus on growth capital for developing businesses.

Joanna advises on a broad range of corporate transactions, acting for both private equity houses and management teams on early and later stage investments, buy-outs and mergers and acquisitions of venture backed and other private companies.

She acts for such clients as Advent Venture Partners and Net Partners in the technology sector and for Apax Partners, Cognetas and TDR Capital, amongst others, in relation to buy-outs and leveraged transactions.

In recent years she has, together with Perry Yam, been responsible for increasing the firm's activities in the biotechnology and life sciences sector, acting for Abingworth, Apax Partners, Schroder Ventures and others.
