Emma Herriman is an Associate in SJ Berwin LLP's Planning and Environment Group.
Emma specialises in planning law and has worked with a wide range of both private and public clients on planning, highways and local government issues.
Her experience includes advising on large scale residential and commerical development schemes and associated infrastructure projects; negotiating and completing complex planning obligation and highways agreements; applying for and advising on traffic and highways orders, rights of light and tree preservation orders. She provides planning advice for corporation and property due diligence and has experience interpreting and advising on administrative and local government decision-making. She has been involved in compulsory purchase proceedings and planning enforcement matters, representing both local authority and private clients.
Before joining SJ Berwin in 2006, Emma worked as an inhouse planning and highways solicitor at both Cambridge and Westminster City Councils. She qualified as a barrister and solicitor in Australia in 2001 and worked at Minter Ellison Lawyers in the Local Government Group (Adelaide, Perth and Melbourne).
