Ramón García Gallardo is the managing partner in the Brussels office. He specialises in EU and Spanish Competition Law.  In EU Law Ramón deals mainly in Regulatory, Trade, Transport and AgriFood & Fisheries law and in those areas, Ramón has acquired extensive experience and regularly acts for a huge list of international clients.

He regularly represents clients in non-contentious cases before the European Commission and the Spanish administration - particularly the Spanish competition authorities. He also has a particular expertise in litigation cases before the Spanish Courts and the Court of First Instance ("CFI") and the European Court of Justice ("ECJ") in Luxembourg.

In addition, Ramón is currently leading the group of Regulatory and Lobbying Affairs in Brussels, with an extensive practice before the European Commission and particularly, the European Parliament; and the Consultancy Group where SJB has acquired a reputation in international public tenders, i.e. currently advising the European Commission on legal and judicial reforms in the Africa and South and Central America.

Outside the EU & Competition areas, Ramón has a niche practice on Arbitration & Litigation of Shipping and Fishing cases on a worldwide level, having represented clients on a wide range of jurisdictions, both for private and public clients (including the Government of Canada, Panama, Seychelles and Guinea-Bissau). He has been pleading several cases before the International Tribunal of the Law of the Sea (ITLOS).

With more than 17 years residing and working in the capital of Europe, he coordinates a team of qualified Belgian lawyers dealing with Corporate, Commercial and Belgian Tax issues, that has progressively expanded our practice in Belgium.

Educated at the University of Valladolid, Spain, Ramón later studied for his Masters in EU law at the Instituto de Estudios Europeos at the University of Salamanca, at King's College, London and at the Free University of Brussels and is fluent in Spanish, English and French.
