Josyane Gold has been a partner in the private equity funds team since 1988. She has been responsible, alongside Jonathan Blake, for building the market leading team in UK and European private equity funds. She has a wealth of experience in the area that comes from having acted, over a period of 20 years, on well over 100 funds, has a leading relationship with most of the firm’s major private equity clients and is a well known figure in the Private Equity industry.
Josyane is recognised by Chambers, Legal 500 and Global Counsel as a leading adviser in private equity funds.
Josyane writes and lectures widely, speaking frequently at Private Equity industry conferences and at the EVCA (European Private Equity and Venture Capital Association) Training institute for private equity practitioners.
Josyane has also been actively involved in EVCA’s Professional Standards initiatives, which have resulted in the publication of industry guidelines such as the EVCA Governing Principles. Josyane was a member of the European Commission Expert Panel advising in private equity whose report informed the Commission’s White Paper on investment funds, published in October 2006.
Josyane’s experience covers the whole spectrum of private equity and venture capital funds and more recently, has included infrastructure, renewable energy and clean tech funds. Key clients include Pantheon, PAI, Macquarie, Adams Street, Hg Capital, Phoenix, Amadeus, Deutsche RREEF, GMT Communications and Environmental Technology Fund. In 2007, Josyane, together with the SJ Berwin corporate deals team, advised the nine executive members of the investment management team of Standard Life Investments (Private Equity) Limited, on the proposed reorganisation of Standard Life’s private equity investment management business. She also advised RREEF Infrastructure on its pan-European infrastructure fund, she acted for Environmental Technology on the establishment of a fund investing in clean tech and was part of the team on funds for Pantheon, PAI, Macquarie, Industri Kapital and Apax Partners.
