Eleni Gouliou is an associate in the firm’s EU and Competition department,
specialising in EU and UK competition law. Eleni is a dually qualified solicitor
(England & Wales) and Greek lawyer (Athen’s Bar).

Prior to joining SJ Berwin Eleni worked in Athens as a competition, energy and
litigation lawyer. Eleni also spent six months at the European Commission, DG for
Competition, where she assisted in cases relating to media and broadcasting rights.

Eleni advises on a range of contentious and non-contentious competition law
issues, particularly in relation to anticompetitive agreements and mergers. More
recently, Eleni spent time on secondment in the media sector.

Eleni also has significant experience in advising on all aspects of public
pronouncement and utilities procurement. In addition, Eleni has an interest in
international trade and was the lead associate in successfully defending a
Japanese electronics manufacturer in anti-dumping proceedings before the
European Commission.

Eleni holds a Bachelor in Law with Honours from the University of Athens. She also
holds a Masters Degree (LL.M.) in European and International Business Law from
the University of Cambridge and a Diploma in English Commercial Law from the
College of Law.
