Stuart is a partner in the Finance Department.
He specialises in acting for UK and international lenders on a variety of leveraged finance transactions, including leveraged buy-outs, public bids, trade purchases and
recapitalisations and has experience of senior, second-lien, mezzanine and PIK debt as well as acquisition bridge financings. Stuart also advises various sponsors and bidding consortia on the financing of leveraged buy-outs. In addition to leveraged finance, Stuart has experience in structured finance (including CDOs and other forms of securitisation), property finance and US private placements.

- Bank of Scotland, Bank of Ireland and Allied Irish Banks as joint lead arrangers of the debt finance for Global Radio's £375m recommended bid for GCap Media plc
- Barclays and RBS as joint lead arrangers of the debt finance to fund the acquisition by Nuffield Hospitals of the Cannons chain of health and fitness clubs
- Barclays and RBS as joint lead arrangers of the debt finance to fund the recapitalisation of GVA Grimley in conjuntion with the buy-in of LDC
- Bank of Scotland as lead arranger of the debt finance to fund the secondary buyout by Lydian Capital of Trilogy Health Services in the US
- Bank of Scotland as lead arranger of the debt finance to fund Global Radio's £170m leveraged buy out of Chrysalis Radio
- RBS as lead arranger of a £230m facility for Care UK plc, including finance for the acquisition of Mercury Healthcare
