From Private to Public: Evolution of an Asset Class

06/05/2008

Six months after publication of Sir David Walker's guidelines on disclosure and transparency in private equity, we recently hosted a forum for our clients and contacts to debate the impact of the Walker Review on the image and reputation of the industry.

In partnership with The Daily Telegraph, the forum was chaired by Damian Reece, Head of Business at The Telegraph Media Group, and we were delighted to welcome the man responsible for monitoring compliance with the guidelines, Sir Michael Rake, Chairman of BT.   They were joined by a distinguished panel of speakers which included Simon Walker, Chief Executive of the BVCA; Guy Hands, Chief Executive Officer of Terra Firma Capital Partners; Philip Yea, Chief Executive of 3i Group plc, Harry Nicholson, Head of the Commercial Advisory team at Ernst & Young; Philip Dunne MP, member of the Treasury Committee and Simon Witney, partner at SJ Berwin LLP.
