Frankfurt, 15.04.2010 - Together with Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP and Schönherr v.o.s., SJBerwin advised IDG Capital Partners (IDG) on its 30millionUS$ investment in Sky Solar Holding Co., Ltd, Cayman Islands (Sky Solar).

With subsidiaries in Germany, France, The Czech Republic, Italy, Spain, Greece, Bulgaria, Japan, Canada, and the United States Sky Solar is a multi-national enterprise specializing in the solar photovoltaic (PV) market, being actively engaged in project finance and investment, engineering, design and construction of solar PV installations as well as operations management. Sky Solar is currently preparing its initial public stock offering.

With offices in Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Silicon Valley, and Boston IDG is a China-focused investment firm with over US$ 2.5B capital under management investing in various industries benefiting from the Chinese economic development.

IDG's investment in Sky Solar mainly serves to realise numerous PV power plants in Germany, Spain and the Czech Republic with a total installation capacity of more than 23 MW. Having comprehensive experience in the energy sector SJ Berwin has advised IDG on all legal aspects of the European subsidiaries and of the projected PV power plants in Europe.
