Peter Anderson is a partner in the Corporate Finance Department of SJ Berwin LLP.
Peter qualified as a solicitor in 1978, joined SJ Berwin in 1985, and became a
partner in 1986.

Peter was educated in Ireland, and at Shrewsbury School and Downing College,
Cambridge.

With more than 30 years in the Law in London, Peter has had wide-ranging
experience of the legal issues which companies encounter. Peter advises on
public company takeovers, private company mergers and acquisitions, IPOs and
equity raising, joint ventures and compliance with company law, prospectus, listing
and takeover code requirements.

Peter’s work has included Hilton Hotels’ 2007 sale of its LivingWell health clubs,
SJ Berwin’s 2005 transition to SJ Berwin LLP, as well as Macarthy’s 1991 defence
of bids by Grampian, Unichem and Lloyds Chemists, Ladbroke Group’s 1995 sale
of the Texas Homecare DIY chain and its 1997 purchase and 1998 sale of the
Coral betting business, Britt Allcroft/Gullane Entertainment’s 1996 IPO and its 2001
acquisition of Guinness World Records and IM Internationalmedia’s 2000 Neuer
Markt IPO.

Peter speaks on mergers and acquisitions, the Listing Rules and the City Code. He
co-authored Practical Insolvency Precedents, published in looseleaf and CD-ROM
forms by Sweet & Maxwell (second edition 1997).

He worked as a solicitor in Hong Kong in 1980. From 1991 until 1995 he was
non-executive chairman of a family company in the food retailing business.

Peter is a trustee of Hilton in the Community Foundation.
