Nick Brocklesby joined SJ Berwin LLP from Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in September 2005.

He has seven years post qualification experience of commercial litigation and financial services and regulatory work. He has acted for and advised various international companies, investment banks and fund managers in such matters. His litigation experience has included involvement in disputes that have reached trial before the English court and has also extended to alternative forms of dispute resolution, including mediation.

His recent litigation experience includes acting for a syndicate of investment banks in a major credit crunch related dispute, and acting for a hedge fund in a successful trial against the marketer of various hedge fund financial products.

His regulatory practice has involved advising clients on a variety of matters including the preparation of responses and reports to the Financial Services Authority, London Metals Exchange and other international regulatory authorities. He has advised clients, pursuant to investigations of the Financial Services Authority, in both a Supervision and Enforcement context and has also been involved in mediation with the Financial Services Authority.

Nick was educated at Edmund Hall, Oxford University and was awarded an open scholarship for all three years of his university career. He is qualified as a Solicitor Advocate.
