Kathrin Lübbe-Späth worked with a leading international law firm in the area of competition law, copyrights and media law. She then took a position at the Bundeskartellamt for approximately two and a half years where she worked, inter alia, in the general policy division, unit for German and European merger control. Since

Kathrin joined SJ Berwin in 2003, she focuses on advising and representing corporate clients in merger control proceedings at both the European Commission and the Bundeskartellamt. In addition, she specialises in cartel inquiries and monopoly cases including litigation to that respect.

Kathrin studied at the Universities of Passau and Bonn, Germany, as well as at the University of Tours, France, where she achieved the "Licence en droit privé". She obtained her doctorate in the area of comparative law relating to German and French competition law. Kathrin is a member of Studienvereinigung Kartellrecht.
