Ann joined SJ Berwin's Paris office as a partner in January 2005. She specialises in real estate law, in particular, investments made by UK and US investors in Continental European commercial properties, operational leasing of commercial, retail and industrial property and development projects. She also litigates on contractual liability related to real estate and more specifically on the enforcement of sale agreements, commercial lease and construction issues, as well as on tort liability incurred by investors where negotiations have been abusively ended.
Ann is a graduate of Université de Paris-Panthéon Sorbonne, where she obtained a DEA in Business and Economic Law. She began her career at Clifford Chance Paris in 1994 followed by Watson, Farley Williams, in 1999 and then formed part of the founding team that established Orrick's office in 2002 where she was made partner in 2003. Ann has been a member of the Paris Bar since 1995.
She is the author of the publication "France enacts Public Private Partnership Legislation" published by Euromoney International.
Ann speaks fluent English, French and Danish.
Ann a rejoint le bureau parisien de SJ Berwin en qualité d'associé au début du mois de Janvier 2005. Elle intervient en droit immobilier et plus particulièrement, les investissements en immobilier commercial réalisés par des Anglo-Saxons, la location d'immeuble commerciaux, de surfaces de vente et d'immeuble industriels ainsi que la promotion immobilière. Elle plaide également sur la responsabilité contractuelle en matière immobilière ainsi que la responsabilité délictuelle que peuvent encourir les investisseurs en cas de rupture abusive de pourparlers.
Ann est diplômée de l'Université de Paris-Panthéon Sorbonne - Paris I où elle a obtenu un DEA de Droit des Affaires - Droit Economique en 1994. Elle débuta sa carrière chez Clifford Chance Paris en 1994 puis chez Watson, Farley Williams en 1999. Elle suit ensuite l'équipe qui participe à l'implantation du cabinet américain Orrick en 2002. Elle est nommée associée en 2003. Elle est membre du barreau de Paris depuis 1995.
Elle est l'auteur de la publication "France enacts Public Private Partnership Legislation" chez Euromoney International.

Performance 2003/2004: Transactions
- Advising AMB Property Corporation (nominated Industrial REIT for 2004) on logistics investments in France and, in particular, development project for the construction and the rental to La Poste of the most technologically advanced sorting center in Europe (ca. Euros 76,000,000 this figure includes several transactions) and on the purchase of La Poste Hub, Charles de Gaulle Airport (first cargo center of AMB in Europe).
- Responsible and Coordinator in Europe of the legal review of diversified real estate portfolios (real estate properties, private equity interests, loan portfolios) of a major international bank for the setting-up of an opportunistic real estate fund (USD 1.2 billion).
- Advising a major European bank on investment at the upper level of the acquisition structure of French Gecina portfolio by Westbrook (Euros 480,000,000).
- Advising Vivendi Universal on the sale of two towers in La Defense (Tour Egée and Tour Cèdre) to German funds (ca. Euros 500,000,000) (support service to structured finance partner).
- Defending French subsidiary of a UK investor on a Euros 2,000,000 claim on tort liability further to an aborted transaction (compensation claims rejected by the court in 2004).
- Defending French subsidiary of a UK investor on a Euros 1,000,000 claim by the tenant on building defects and related insurance disputes.
- Advising German owned French company on the construction of waste disposal plant (Euros 15,000,000).
