Marta Arias Díaz is an associate in the Brussels office, specialising in EU and International law.

Marta Arias Díaz holds a Spanish law degree from the Autonomous University of Barcelona, graduating first in her year, and later obtained a MA in International and EU Law from the Radboud Universiteit Nijmegen, the Netherlands (first-class).

Prior to joining SJ Berwin LLP, Marta worked as casehandler at the European Ombudsman in Strasbourg (France).

In the field of EU law, Marta has mainly experience in calls for tenders, access to documents, environmental law, staff contracts and disability rights. She has also gained experience on EU competition law and Spanish matters in a wide range of fields such as energy, maritime transport and trade.

She speaks Spanish and Catalan, fluent English and French and has very good knowledge of Portuguese and Italian.
