We provide advice on special events – setting up business, mergers and acquisitions, and joint ventures – and on matters of business routine – regulatory requirements, competition law, finance, employment, intellectual property rights, commercial contracts, and what to do when cash runs short. We do this not only for clients in the Asia-Pacific region and from Europe, America and elsewhere but also, with our colleagues in SJ Berwin’s other offices, for clients based in China and Hong Kong who are looking to do business or make outbound acquisitions in Europe or the Middle East.
Activity has included acting for German MNCs in China, Chinese SOEs in Europe, Hong Kong based entrepreneurs looking to IPO or raise equity finance, Hong Kong publicly traded companies and US owners with operating assets in mainland China, and European based lenders taking security over assets in the region.
