The complexity of pension provision and its associated costs and difficulties have increased steadily over recent decades. Working closely with employers and trustees of pension schemes as well as firms of administrators, actuaries, consultants, brokers and other pension scheme advisers, we cover a comprehensive range of services in relation to all areas of pensions law and practice in the United Kingdom and Germany.
In particular, we deliver pensions law advice on the drafting trust deeds, rules and other scheme-related documentation, advising on contractual pension rights in an employment context and the interpretation of scheme documentation and on the exercise of duties, powers and discretion in the light of relevant trust, company, financial services and pensions law, and advising on existing pensions legislation, case law and tax regulation.
Alongside our colleagues in our employment, corporate, litigation and tax practices, we assist in the winding-up and merger of pension schemes and on the pensions aspects of flotations, mergers and acquisitions, insolvency, clearance applications to the Pensions Regulator and pension-related disputes.
We now act in respect of over 40 occupational pension schemes of varying types.
