Private Equity Investment Funds - European Update
Thursday 19th May 2005
at 222 Gray's Inn Road, London WC1X 8XF
The Private Equity Team at SJ Berwin is holding its Eighth Annual Evening Seminar and Drinks. A short overview of important commercial, legal, tax and regulatory developments, followed by an opportunity to catch up with friends over a glass of wine.
Background
The private equity industry is entering a new era. Opportunities abound, and fundraising continues apace for buy-out funds in particular. At this seminar we will take our annual look at the state of the market, and examine in detail the evolution of fund terms. But the last twelve months have also seen some important challenges. In particular, the industry has to face a new environment: with private equity never far from the headlines, and the Government looking for new ways to raise revenue, the tax and regulatory landscape has changed dramatically. We will also analyse some of the most important threats faced by private equity practitioners.
