Ringing the Changes
Thursday 14th June 2007
at 10 Queen Street Place London, EC4R 1BE
Background
As in recent years, the last 12 months have seen significant developments in employment law with the arrival of age discrimination, changes to maternity and adoption rights, and the right to request flexible working being extended to carers of adults. In addition, in April 2007, the Information and Consultation of Employees Regulations 2004 were extended to cover employers with 100 or more employees, with a further extension in April 2008 to cover employers with 50 or more employees, and 1 July 2007 will see smoking bans introduced in all offices.
Any legislative changes provide an opportunity to review employment contracts, handbooks and policy documents. The aim of the seminar is to provide practical and legal guidance on how to introduce changes to employees’ contracts, consider possible consequences when making changes and how to reduce any adverse impact, as well as giving guidance on an employer’s obligations when a request is made under the Information and Consultation Regulations.
