Financial Markets: MiFID for Private Equity
Tuesday 26th June 2007
at 10 Queen Street Place London, EC4R 1BE

The Markets in Financial Instruments Directive was not written for managers and advisers of alternative investment funds. There are still disagreements across Europe over how it affects them. But the time for talking is running out and the time for practical implementation has arrived.

The FSA is on track to implement with effect from 1 November and affected firms need to sort out what they are doing. Some problem issues for hedge fund managers and private equity managers are the same: matters such as internal organisation and external marketing. Some diverge widely: such as the application of the Directive, best execution and transaction reporting.

We aim in these two sessions to bring you a practical insight into the tricky areas of MiFID for these specialised business lines. We hope that those who come to both sessions will find the different angles enlightening and those who come to just one will still have a useful look at the most important issues for them.
