Tuesday 4th December 2007
at 10 Queen Street Place London, EC4R 1BE

This is the third Breakfast Seminar in the Autumn Series presented by the Employment Group looking at redundancy and consultation obligations

Background
In recent years, redundancy procedures have become increasingly complex, with different legislation covering individual and collective redundancies, combined with the statutory dismissal and disciplinary procedures.  The possibility of claims not only for unfair dismissal but also for a general failure to consult have put a greater emphasis on getting the procedure right.

In this seminar, we will be providing a practical guide to managing the redundancy process and dealing with redundancies, as well as considering the impact of the recent Court of Appeal decision in UK Coal Mining Limited v NUM, which extends the duty to collectively consult.

  • potential penalties.
