Private Equity Across Europe: The Spanish Market

The Spanish private equity market is moving fast. In 2005, investments amounted to 0.475% of GDP - which (by this measure) placed Spain in fifth place in Europe, ahead of France and Germany. The sustained economic growth, and the proven strength of the entrepreneurial culture, make it a very attractive market, which explains the growing feeling that Spain is a place to be. New sectors such as real estate, infrastructure and biotechnology are signals of growing maturity.

At this seminar we will look at those factors that consolidate the Spanish market as the place to be, with the inside view of Iñigo Sánchez-Asiaín from Iberusizas, fresh from a record breaking fund raising.

Iñigo Sánchez-Asiaín will share his perspectives on the state of the market and outlook for the coming year.

Carlos Pazos head of our Madrid office will discuss some legal topics and tax issues in Spain as they affect investments and deal structuring.

Joanna Hamilton, a Corporate Finance Partner at SJ Berwin, will chair the seminar, providing a brief introduction to the issues which are to be discussed.

Joanna will also chair the panel discussion.
