Private Equity across Europe: The German Market
Monday 30th October 2006
at 10 Queen Street Place, London, EC4R 1BE
Over the last five years, the German Private Equity industry has been booming - growing at an annual average rate of around 40%. That growth continues - in the first half of 2006, both fundraising and investments were up about 25% on the same period last year. Two thirds of the investments were in buy-outs, mostly in small and mid-cap companies. Exits have also been strong - aggregate exit proceeds reached 85% of investment amounts in the first half of 2006. In many respects, German Private Equity is continuing to close the gap with the Anglo-Saxon economies, and foreign investors are finding increasingly competitive and efficient markets.
At this seminar, Torsten Grede, from Deutsche Beteiligungs AG, will share his perspectives on the state of the market and outlook for the future.
Justus Binder, from our Munich office, will discuss some topical legal and tax issues in Germany as they affect investments and deal structuring.
Jonathan Blake, who has over 24 years' of experience of private equity across Europe, will chair the seminar, providing a brief introduction to the issues which are to be discussed.
Jonathan will also chair the panel discussion
With opportunities to ask questions of our speakers both during the seminar and afterwards over drinks, we hope that you will find this event to be stimulating, topical and practical.
The final seminar in this series will focus on Spain and is being held in our London office on the morning of Thursday 23 November.
