About Us
The Employment & Pensions Group advises on all employment and pensions law, covering contentious and non-contentious issues. We run 6 workshop seminars a year covering topical issues directed at HR specialists, publish a monthly bulletin giving up-to-theminute reports on new cases, legislation and advance warning of likely developments and also offer on-site bespoke training to clients. We act for employers, senior executives, and pension scheme trustees. Clients include large plcs, smaller companies, educational establishments, charities, partnerships and occupational pension schemes.
Background
The recent proliferation of rights for working parents and parents-to-be has meant that employees with familial responsibilities are perhaps the most protected sector of the workforce. The family-friendly employment rights can seem complicated and difficult to apply in practice. In this seminar, we will be attempting to de-mystify the family-friendly rights employees may have, by putting these in a practical context, and giving hints and tips on how to deal with employees with family responsibilities. We will also be looking at the current proposals to change (yet again) the rights available to working parents and pregnant employees.
