Background

AIM is the world's most successful market for growth companies. Established by the London Stock Exchange in 1995, there are now 1292 companies traded on AIM, of which 175 are incorporated outside the UK. During 2004 and 2005, the growth of AIM has been explosive. In the first 6 months of 2005, 277 new companies were admitted to AIM (48 being international) and $5.7 billion has been raised during the same period. The total amount raised since 1995 is $33 billion.
