SJ Berwin Complete Property Work for Merivale Moore following Takeover

The property department at SJ Berwin have acted for Merivale Moore in connection with the property work that followed that company's takeover of Dunsterville Allen plc. The portfolio comprised around 40 properties in London, SE1, with a total value of £24 million. Since the acquisition, Merivale Moore has disposed of 20 of the properties by individual and small portfolio sales.
Assistant solicitor Julia Hesselberg, working with property partner John Eldridge, acted in this matter. SJ Berwin's Corporate partners Philip Goldenberg and Robert Burrow and assistant solicitor David Parkes acted for Merivale Moore in the original acquisition in February of this year.

- Julia Hesselberg's experience is based on a broad range of commercial property issues in all sectors of investment, industrial, retail, office and warehouse schemes.
- She has a varied portfolio of transactions completed on behalf of small private investors and major property companies and financial institutions.
- A large proportion of her work has involved secured lending, acquisitions of shopping centres, industrial estates and office parks, residential lease work, auction sales and purchases, sales and leasebacks and landlord and tenant work.
- John Eldridge joined SJ Berwin as a partner in the Property Department in 1983 shortly after the firm's inception.
- He has wide experience in commercial property matters, particularly in the office, retail and hotel sections, acting for amongst others Ladbroke, British Land, Schlumberger, Securum, Chelsfield and Royal Sun Alliance, Merivale Moore and numerous offshore investors.
- Recent work for Merivale Moore by John, Julia and the team includes the acquisition of the Middlegreen trading estate near Slough, Berks for £8.5m and the acquisition of 19 Margaret Street/21 Little Portland Street W1, for £4m.
