SJ Berwin LLP has advised Cognetas on the acquisition of the iron foundry, Gebrüder Gienanth-Eisenberg GmbH, as well as the subsidiaries Fronberg Guss GmbH and Fronberg Guss Immobilien GmbH from Fink Holding, by way of a management buyout.
The deal remains subject to clearance from the relevant authorities. The parties agreed to maintain confidentiality in respect of all further details.
Cognetas is a leading, pan-European private equity investment firm with focus on mid-market, complex buyout deals.
Gienath, with headquarters in Eisenberg in the Rhineland and one further location in Schwandorf, Bavaria, enjoyed turnover of around € 150 million for the year 2007. Employing over 900 staff, the firm is the worldwide leading producer of engine blocks for medium to large diesel and gas engines as well as clutch and transmission products made of compacted graphite iron (GJV) for the automobile industry.
