UNIQLO, the number one clothing company from Japan launches in the UK on 28th September with the opening of stores on London's Brompton Road, Wimbledon, Uxbridge and Romford.
SJ Berwin has provided legal representative in the completion of the first four stores with Property Divison Partner, Martin Wright and assistant solicitor, James Mallender acting for the company.
UNIQLO offers simple, functional casual wear for men, women and children at accessible prices. The brand, owned by Fast Retailing (UK) Ltd plans an expansion of at least 50 stores by 2003.
UNIQLO has achieved phenomenal success in Japan where it has rapidly grown over the last five years and now has a network of over 500 stores. The brand's reputation of simplicity, quality and good value has been extremely well received with men, women and children of all ages.

- Listed on the Tokyo Stoke Exchange, Fast Retailing has been one of the best performing Japanese retailers with turnover of £1.47billion last year to August 2000.
- The company currently has over 500 UNIQLO stores in Japan, some 20,860 employees and headquarters in Tokyo.
