SJ Berwin Strengthens Construction Team With New Appointment
Julie Stagg spent five years at Herbert Smith, where she worked as an assistant in the construction and engineering group. Prior to that she was an assistant at Lawrence Graham. Her focus has been on non-contentious work, acting primarily for UK developers, institutional investors and banks.
Ian Insley, Head of Construction at SJ Berwin said, “We have had a very busy year to date and Julie’s appointment is a boost to our growth plans. As well as developing our UK work, we aim to build our cross-border construction offer, taking advantage of the firm’s Continental offices and the increased demand for international construction work.”

Corporate and commercial law firm SJ Berwin has recruited a new assistant construction lawyer, Julie Stagg, from Herbert Smith, in a boost to the firm’s specialist construction team. The appointment takes the number in the team to eight and bolsters its non-contentious capability. The construction group, which sits within SJ Berwin’s 116 strong real estate division, specialises in development work for property clients of the division and financial companies.Julie Stagg spent five years at Herbert Smith, where she worked as an assistant in the construction and engineering group.
